The UACCB Adult Education Department seeks to meet adult students' educational needs at the secondary level by providing instruction to those who want to earn a high school diploma through the GED program. Basic skill instruction to prepare for college enrollment or job advancement and English as a Second Language ESL classes for non-English speakers are also offered through the Adult Education grants. These grants allow all adult education classes to be offered free to the public. Adult Education services are available for anyone who is at least 18 years old and not enrolled in high school. Sixteen and seventeen year old students may enroll with the appropriate documentation releasing them from high school attendance. Students may enroll any time throughout the year. Each student is assessed to determine strengths and weaknesses and learning plans are developed to meet educational goals.

Plan 1: Applicants employed by a state approved adult education program Additional Licensure Plan-ALP must complete 15 credit hours of designated adult education coursework.
